Researcher and Educator
I am currently based in the Department of Peace Studies and International Development (PSID) at the University of Bradford, where I spend my time researching, teaching, and exploring the messy, fascinating crossroads of religion, politics, and power, especially in South Asia. My research and academic writing addresses themes of nationalism, democracy, and the many forms of violence faced by minorities. I am also fortunate to share this work through media and other public forums from time to time.
I love teaching. I am a proud Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy — because great teaching matters. I frequently use my three plays on disasters and conflicts in South Asia, along with other creative practices in my teaching and students love it!
I hold a PhD in Politics from the King’s India Institute, and an MA in International Relations (with distinction) from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London.
This website is a collection of my work. Please take a look around. I would love to connect if you find my work interesting and want to collaborate.
